All about Community Outrage

More than a decade ago the Weblight Studio Journal was started to record creative efforts coming out of the newly registered Weblight Studio. It would have some art and anything interesting that happened to the handicapped and rather impoverished artist.

It turns out that people below a certain income level, or maybe all of us, lurch from abuse to abuse. The more handicapped you are the more outraged and determined abusers become as you stand up to them.

The problem is the  abusers are only rarely junkies or criminals. In the main they are the unexpected ones. They are the ones a handicapped and poor tenant of government housing should be looking at for security and support. Many of them are important people and they are not happy having their ill-treatment of a handicapped man recorded.

These stories are posted with the actual details. Sometimes they are posted by Weblight Studio but after the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal created an order  limiting his ability to record what is happening several other writers have become anonymous recorders of his story

As time has passed it has become obvious this person has a lifetime of serious and horrific abuse hanging over his head. He has trauma and head injuries and cruelty all along his path through life. It is a particular desire to cover the story emanating from the years about 1996 when he ended up on the northern Central Coast of NSW and became a university student. The professionals who blocked his path here destroyed his future and left him forced to self medicate with illegal drugs despite his very obvious handicaps and illnesses.

He also recently started to undergo psychological treatment but gave it up when his psychologist kept insisting no one had ever lived events he claimed to have experienced. He has been suffering partial amnesia for decades and fighting to restore his memory and intellectual function. During the psychological treatments traumatic events bubbled up and kept intruding on his mind with distressing but partial memories. Hopefully, relating those events here will enable him to deal with them or heal his psyche.

We had been expecting the PTSD and brain trauma to relate to a high speed motorbike injury which left him crippled and confused after 1980 but enough of the memories have been discovered to indicate harm as far back as the early 1970’s and significant personality changes.
